Refund policy
1. All Sales Final on Custom Orders Due to the bespoke, made-to-order nature of our work, all sales are final. Every door is handcrafted specifically for your rough opening, wood preference, and design specifications. Therefore, Contour Doors cannot accept returns or exchanges due to:
-
Change of mind or design preference after production has started.
-
Incorrect measurements provided by the buyer.
-
Incompatibility with existing hardware or jambs not supplied by us.
2. Order Cancellation & Changes We understand that renovations can be fluid.
-
24-Hour Grace Period: You may cancel or modify your order for a full refund within 24 hours of purchase.
-
After 24 Hours: Once materials have been ordered or lumber has been milled, a 35% restocking/material fee will be deducted from any cancellation.
-
After 3 Days : No refund will be provided.
3. Freight Shipping & Damage Policy (CRITICAL) We crate our doors with extreme care to withstand cross-country freight. However, damage can occur in transit. Your signature on the delivery receipt is a legal acceptance of the item in "Good Condition."
-
You Must Inspect Upon Arrival: You must inspect the crate and the product while the driver is present.
-
If You See Damage:
-
Do NOT sign the delivery receipt as clear.
-
Note "DAMAGED" clearly on the Bill of Lading (BOL).
-
Take photos of the damage and the crate.
-
Refuse the shipment if the damage is catastrophic.
-
-
Reporting: You must report any damage to Contour Doors within 24 hours of delivery. If you sign for the shipment without noting damage, we cannot file an insurance claim, and we cannot replace the door for free.
4. Manufacturing Guarantee We stand behind our craftsmanship. We guarantee our doors to be free from structural defects for 1 Year from the date of delivery.
-
What is Covered: Delamination, structural failure of joinery, or significant warping (exceeding 1/4" along the plane) if the door was properly finished and sealed.
-
What is NOT Covered:
-
Natural expansion/contraction due to humidity (seasonal movement).
-
Warping caused by failing to seal/finish all sides of the door within [e.g., 7 days] of receipt.
-
Improper installation or storage (e.g., storing the door in a damp garage before hanging).
-
5. Natural Wood Disclaimer We build with 100% solid, natural hardwoods. No two pieces of wood are identical.
-
Variations in grain pattern, color, mineral streaks, and small, sound knots are characteristics of solid wood, not defects.
-
These variations are proof of authenticity and will not be accepted as a reason for return.
