Shipping policy

1. Production vs. Shipping Time Please note that "Lead Time" refers to the time it takes to build your custom door in our Royston, GA workshop. "Shipping Time" is the time it takes for the carrier to deliver it to you after it leaves our shop.

  • Current Production Lead Time: Six to Eight weeks.

  • Freight Transit Time: Typically 3-7 business days depending on your distance from Georgia.

2. Standard "Curbside" Freight Delivery All doors are shipped via LTL Freight with Liftgate Service. This is a Curbside Delivery, which means:

  • The driver will lower the crate to the ground at the end of your driveway or curb.

  • The driver is NOT permitted to carry the door into your home, garage, or backyard.

  • You are responsible for unpacking the crate and moving the door inside. We strongly recommend having at least 2 people available to help you move the item.

3. Scheduling Your Delivery

  • Appointment Required: The carrier will call you 24-48 hours before delivery to schedule a drop-off window.

  • Missed Appointments: If you miss your scheduled appointment, the carrier may charge a Redelivery Fee (typically $100+), which will be billed to you.

  • Storage Fees: If the carrier cannot reach you to schedule delivery within 3 business days of arrival at the terminal, daily Storage Fees may apply.

4. Remote & Limited Access Areas "Free Shipping" (when offered) covers standard residential delivery to the contiguous 48 states. It does not cover "Limited Access" areas.

  • Surcharges: Deliveries to islands (e.g., Martha’s Vineyard, Florida Keys), mountains with narrow roads, or gated communities that a 53’ semi-truck cannot access may incur a Remote Access Surcharge.

  • Notification: If you live in a difficult-to-access area, please notify us before shipping so we can arrange a smaller truck.

5. Damage Inspection (CRITICAL)

  • Inspect Before You Sign: You must inspect the outside of the crate while the driver is present.

  • If you see damage: Write "DAMAGED" on the delivery receipt/Bill of Lading and take photos immediately.

  • Concealed Damage: If you find damage after opening the crate, you must report it to Contour Doors within 24 hours. Claims made after this window may be denied by the carrier.
